I can't even remember MAMA 2011 so I can't compare. But anyway, why should I compare? Right?
Anyway, 2011 was my "I love 2ne1 and I don't know anyone else in kpop" year. So was just rooting for 2ne1 throughout and thankfully they won something! Put up a great performance of <I Am the Best + Lonely> and CL did that awesome collab with BEP.

Anyway, speaking of 2ne1, concert tomorrow! Saw their press conference pictures. 2ne1 has a unique sense of style but I don't think the clothes were all that flattering for the whole group. Some looked okay but I personally did not like Bom's top. Perhaps it doesn't photograph well but it just... well, didn't like it. Really sad that I'm not going to their concert but am pretty much broke from Alive and SMTown.

Honestly thought fx looked lovely. But before that, camera panned to Luna a few times and I was like, who's that? Does she look different from her Electric Shock mv? She looks like a cute school girl here with the puffy blouse pinafore + sidebraid combo.
Read that Sulli was tall but now I see it. She IS tall! It's like, she has that gamine look which makes you think of a girl with a petite stature. Her bob looks chic on her. Ah jealous!
Amber looks pretty dashing haha. But I still think her SMTown hair looked better.
Photo is not flattering to Vic here. Or maybe it's the overall look? It doesn't bring out her youthful side!
Saw comments that Krystal here, looks pissed. But I guess the camera might have caught her at the wrong moment. Stop hating on Krystal! She really does look kinda like YoonA rather than Jessica.

In my previous post, I talked about SHINee too. Boys look real dapper here. Not too sure what is that furry thing on Taemin's belt but anyways. Does anyone think Jonghyun looks like Daniel Choi here? (Am watching Ghost currently and I like Daniel Choi!)

I realised Onew has a lovely speaking voice too. It's like his singing voice!

Really like SJK after watching him on Running Man. Prior to that, didn't know who he was. Kinda sad that he's not on RM anymore. He was great though I wished he and Jihyo teamed up more often. Song siblings. Personally he didn't sound too good when he sang. Does he sing? I thought he sang the OST for Wolf Boy (or was it Nice Guy?) Can he sing or not? Actually, I don't really care. He is still cute and that's enough.

I really like them a lot however, I still can't identify Dasom and Soyu. My favorite is Hyorin because of her voice. But Bora was an interesting character on Invincible Youth so I like her too.
I'm glad they won BEST FEMALE GROUP! But that also meant 2ne1 did not win a thing. WAE?

They also picked up a number of awards. I think it's cute how they are very synchronised when they introduce themselves and then do this '5' sign. *impressed*

Anyway, I just thought Ryeowook (my favorite) looks like Derrick Hoh here. Or should I say, Derrick looks like him? Both have the same cute boyish look. Honestly, how can suju rank Ryeowook among the ugliest? He's ugly meh? I can't see what's ugly about him. Personally I think he's one of the better looking ones! But he's not as popular too. WAE?
Only thing is, his voice.. I know he can sing but his voice not man enough. Not the type that I like. I know Onew's voice is not considered manly but I just like it. It resonates well with me.

GD had appeared on stage before the first performance began and rapped in English. Not too sure what it was. Some people said it was Crayon in English. Really? Didn't really sound like Crayon to me :(
But because BB was backstage preparing, GD was alone for most of the show. When the camera panned to him, instead of BB beside him, it was SUJU. Ahh kinda sad :( BB also missed the red carpet! WAE!

First performance of the night! Ailee did a collab with... I think BAP's Bang Yong Guk and someone else. Was disappointed because Ailee is AN AWESOME SINGER (with BEST NEW FEMALE ARTIST to prove it) but the collab sounded so messy and noisy. I don't think they should have gone this way with her. She would have sounded way better on something less rock. Urghh. Outfit choice too. Please style Ailee better! Her "I Will Show You" mv attire is also kinda tacky.

fx accepting their award. Glad to see Krystal looks happier here. Her English is pretty impeccable as we see her later introducing Adam Lambert.

Still remember the fan chant from her Bloom performances. Lots of female performers dressed sexy tonight and Gain was no exception. She won some Style award too which is actually kinda random. Didn't know there was such an award. Choreography was pretty good I must say and Gain makes monolidders look good :) I think she has monolids because I remember frmheadtotoe's tutorial video on her Abracadabra look.

Lee Hi! Granted this is a HUGE international stage for her, she was pretty shaky during her performance of It's Cold. But for a rookie, not bad at all! Getting to perform in front of so many seasoned sunbaes and she's still so young! It's one thing to be in a group and another to come out as a solo artiste at this age. Oh wait, BoA's already done it!
P.S Did BoA win Best Female Artiste for Dance? I didn't see that award presented...

Sistar put up a remixed tango performance of ALONE. Hmm I don't think the look works for girl on the extreme right (Dasom/Soyu?) I still prefer the original Alone although I think the girls pulled off the tango moves with aplomb. Their little solo segments were excellent!

SHINee receiving their award! Minho is SO CUTE HERE! Minho's eyes are really cute. Again, I will say that Jonghyun reminds me of Daniel Choi. Side profile. Personal opinion. SO SUE ME.

EXO! They won some best new asian artiste or something right? Good for them!
I think the camera has trouble keeping the whole group in the shot. 12 people?
BUT their performance was good. Like all SM artistes, they dance well!
Their cover of Mirotic and Lucifer was also pretty good.
After SMTown, I like their Mama song. It's pretty epic and different for a boyband song. Yup EXO is gonna be the next big thing in SM.
P.S It's amazing how SM artistes show their bond. You see the sunbaes and hoobaes thanking each other, referring to themselves as a family - SMTown family.

During the performance, I saw Luna nodding approvingly. Haha fx is no longer the "maknaes" at SM. They debuted the latest until EXO came along. And EXO are really 小弟弟s!

Happy that GD won BEST MALE ARTISTE! Yes sir, he's one of a kind!
You either love GD or hate his style. He is real talented and I find that he is as much a musician as a performer. WHICH makes me admire him more.

SUJU's performance. For the good part of their songs, I was studying Ryeowook and Donghae. My 2 favorites! Which is why I said Ryeowook's voice is not manly to me. Donghae looks more man actually. I find he has this dignified, 稳重 look while Ryeowook is boyish and playful.

Read on twitter that he had purple hair and was expecting like REALLY purple but this ashy grey look is acceptable. Minzy is sporting the same hair color now? Similar?

I guess the slicked back hair is really not the best idea. He really looks normal compared to the rest of BB. Wae? Perhaps his look is phantom of the opera? I really don't know.

Speaking of normal, Taeyang is not dressed crazy either. He really just looks like his normal self :)

GD and the rest of the group knows how to work the crowd. It's like when BB appeared, every one went crazy. Whoohoo VIPs are VIPs! Save the best for last.

BB receiving their ARTIST OF THE YEAR award. YAY!! Although I wished they could have won more awards. What is this Guardian Angel award? Sounds tacky... What does it even mean?
Anyway, BB is daebak! Seriously I like their music and I like them as people! Friends commented that BB looked like ahbengs but that's just their style. It's hiphop and street style. Whatever. Sold out concerts around the world and multiple awards under their belt + MTV Award do cement their spot as one of Kpop's best ambassadors. Come back to sg soon please!

Another of Bigbang accepting Artist of the Year. Really do not like Seungri's hair tonight. He is the maknae! He's like barely 21 so why style him like this! But Bigbang's look is freaking MAN! Perhaps that's why I like them. When a guy looks manly, he can be legitimately HOT. I wouldn't think a flower boy is hot because it would be so strange. Flower boys are too pretty!
I don't have a bias in BB. I like them all equally! It's like every one is unique in their own way and Bigbang won't be Bigbang if any one of them is missing. TOP the charismatic rapper with his sexy bass voice. Daesung has the voice and he's always friendly and smiley. Taeyang with his rnb groove and abs! GD the composer/producer/ with loads of swag and talent. Seungri, maknae but totally ambitious and also troublemaker.
