onewayonewayonewayticket!
Saw these guys perform on Arirang TV and liked the song because it's catchy!
The lead singer is pretty good looking although I keep staring at his face and thinking WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS FACE BEFORE?
Does he look like an actor or another kpop singer? I d'no but he just looks familiar somehow. Anyway he emceed the programme and I thought he spoke pretty decent English compared to some of the other groups who were promoting that day. <UPDATE: Hanbyul is born and bred in Australia! NO WONDER! And a dentistry student. And 184cm tall. And a Cancerian. That's HOT!>
Seems like Loen is churning out more bands or maybe they're just getting more attention now. Used to associate only IU with Loen. She must be their princess or queen! She's cute and has an amazing voice! How is it she is so awesomely awesome? Ahh jealous especially since she likes Taeyang hahaha.
Anyway, so... there are other Loen groups like LEDApple here, Nine Muses, Spica and Nu'est just to name a few.
I've been getting Allkpop tweets these days so I sort of keep getting reminded of the new songs or 'hot' songs e.g. Girls' Day Oh! My God.. that sort of thing?
Youtube usually has those related links to the side and I clicked on a few. I don't blindly LOVE groups. If that song sucks, it sucks. If they can't sing live, they can't sing live. There's no such thing as blind devotion saying they sound amazing when they sound obviously breathless and off-key.
It's hard to emerge atop the saturated market. I d'no if it has reached saturation point? Probably not since more groups are debuting but there are a lot of groups out there, some more high-profile than others. Even when articles cover the upcoming bands etc, when I view their performance and it's SO cringe-inducingly BAD, i don't think I'll listen to any of their other material.
How many other people are like that too?
It seems that on Inkigayo or other shows, a backing track is played so even when the singer isn't singing that line, you can hear vocals in the background. On the Arirang programme, I can't tell if there's a background track. Good thing is you know the group is singing live. Bad thing being the singer sounds so bad live! I had to fast forward their segment.
Even the best groups have off days. It makes sense considering their schedules and all the promotions they have to do. Sometimes they sound tired onstage. But if they sound good at other live performances, we understand that they have what it takes and it's just an off day. I love Big Bang! But I can also tell when they sound a bit off - "oh, he must be tired from all the promotions/ trying out a new harmony but not blending too well! but he's still putting in his best and will recover! :')" YOU KNOW?
Compared to, "OMG! Cannot sing. Still cannot sing. How tragic."
