Jen from Frmheadtotoe put it as one of her Hits.
I really think Mario Badescu is too under-rated. No wait, that's a good thing right? If it's rated highly, the prices might start to soar.
For its price, which is CHEAP, it actually works.
I say it's on par, if not better, than other high end products touted to combat skin problems.
I have used this before and it was a lifesaver.
I got my first bottle on a whim. I read testimonials and it looked so ... normal, without the glossy marketing campaigns, that I thought it could be credible.
It actually worked.
You dab a tiny bit on a spot at night. The next morning, the spot actually disappears. Or gets smaller. Or you can see the redness actually subsided.
Which is totally AMAZING! Which is what we want our skincare products to do right?
And it doesn't break my sensitive skin out so that's definitely a plus.
For anyone who's plagued by troubled skin, what I recommend is:
Go see a dermatologist.
No matter what amazing products there are in the market, 99% are relying on marketing to make them look more effective than they actually are. Self-medication, to put it roughly, is full of hits and misses.
Do you really want to test all that stuff on your face?
Parents - do your kid a favor. Take him/her to the dermatologist and get proper treatment.
Get antibiotics if need be. Spend some $ on the products.
One of the causes of self-esteem issues is undoubtedly, bad skin.
Getting constantly teased is a surefire way for a child to grow up feeling small and insecure. Why give other kids more stuff to ridicule?
Why wouldn't someone nip a problem in the bud before it became worse? HUH?
Which is why I don't understand the tolerance for inaction.
Anyway, my dermatologist gave me Differin, among others.
My skin reacted crazily to it.
It got really sensitive and dry to the extent that it would flake and get mad itchy! Or hurt. I couldn't sleep at night and I was sure I looked worse than before. Mutation!
Thank goodness, after 2 weeks or so, it got better.
That was perhaps the turning point in my life.
On and off, I've been a bad girl, trying new stuff because I read good reviews. Not to mention, make up does not improve the skin!
The MB Drying Lotion was a hit. Lucky find. Pricey to find in Singapore though. However, that still replaced the cream I was using. Which cost even more. Freakin'
Moisturiser-wise, I tried some other brands but they didn't work on me and some even broke me out. Like, OMG SKII WHAT??? Thank god it was a tester.
So I still go back to what my dermatologist had prescribed. You can buy it off Drugstore.com for something like 20+ USD. Which is considered like a good 20 bucks cheapER.
It smells funky and kinda stings your eyes if you put it anywhere near. But thing is, I realised that after I stopped using the other products and go back to it, my skin is looking better. No more breakouts. I reckon it's the go-to for belligerent skin. Beneath the unattractiveness, there are probably some good stuff which I don't know about.
OKAIIII, time for bed.
