So unattractive.
Anyway.
When I was younger, I didn't give much thought to facials, lasers, aesthetic treatments in general. Even though my skin was blah and I knew I was (and still am) nowhere near pretty, it just didn't cross my mind that I would go for them. (Them includes cosmetic surgery)
Previously I would associate facials with spas, beauty salons... Kinda untrustworthy and all that hardselling. (Stereotypes rule!) When people talked about lasers, peels, it just felt so out of my league. Like, I didn't have that extra few hundreds to spare for the sake of beauty please.
And so, that was that. Didn't give it much thought. Only felt slight envy when friends talked about going for facials and getting proper treatment for their skin.
Sigh.
Recently after reading the Dermacare post, this new world of aesthetic treatment was practically calling out to me. Like, you have the financial means now. Don't you want to look pretty? That kinda thing...
I went to do research on similar places and discovered there are aesthetic clinics! I thought the whole clinic idea sounds a little more reliable.
Went for a hydrafacial and got so tempted to plonk $700+ on a package. I'm such a sucker. Goodness. So easy to make me part with my money.
Sat's one is even more interesting.
Once you start, you don't really want to stop. It'll just feel perfectly justifiable to spend that money. You'll look prettier y'know!
And then what's next? Move on to cosmetic surgery?
It did cross my mind to get eyelid surgery when I was in school. I didn't like my eyes and just thought having double eyelids would make them bigger. I think I'm right in that.
But I'm still afraid of the process even now. Just by looking at the picture, I'm stressed. Haha. It's not even a real picture, just a drawing. So silly.

Conventional looks scary. I shudder. So now I have scary pictures on my blog.
Suture doesn't look that painful... Perhaps the effect isn't so good. I d'no.
I remember our Sec 2 storyboard project was *wait for it....*
rhinoplasty!
That's nose surgery in layman terms.
And we documented the process complete with gory pictures which every one found reason not to print.
It was really kinda ridiculous, doing a presentation and not looking at the pictures.
Anyway, dimple surgery looks interesting too. Not so painful?
I think they make an incision on the inside of the mouth.
Kinda curious. Do they have a consultation where they give you a picture of how you'd look like after the surgery? I mean, if you'll look weird and uglier then ... no point doing it right?
When I say slippery slope, I really think there's a strong possibility that you'll get so comfortable with doing treatments that you just progress on to procedures that are actually invasive.
Where do you stop?
My mum always says no one is perfect. Of course. But there are pretty people out there. How do you define pretty? How pretty is pretty?
