The odbo is affiliated with The Face Shop. I think it's a sub-line or I d'no, sister brands? Anyway, I hardly venture into FS because everything is blatantly marked up! When I was in Korea, every one sort of went crazy in the beauty shops because things were supposedly so much cheaper! I didn't have a clue since I don't even stash Korean makeup stuff. In the end, I didn't get much and well, looking at how I've barely touched my samples and the full size stuff I bought, JUST AS WELL.
Anyway, I don't think odbo was very cheap. I didn't know it existed till the last day when we went to this multi-label beauty store for a mini skincare workshop. There were odbo products for us to test and seems like that was the main brand they were promoting.
I got 3 out of the 4 things I was interested in.
- Peeling Gel
- Sun Block Pact
- Aqua Soothing Essence
I'm still using the peeling gel. I think it'll last since I don't use it daily. With peeling gels, I think you use them 2-3 times a week max. I tend to forget and end up using it as an afterthought so ya... it's still going strong. It has the same concept as Ginvera's Marvel Gel. Apply it to dry skin and then massage the flakes off.
I would give it a 3/5. It's a pass but not amazing. I don't see anything happening to blackheads or pores. Maybe because I don't use it zealously?
I've finished using the essence and I really really like it! When pip goes to Korea, I'm hoping she'll help buy it for meeeee :)
It's very light and absorbs extremely well. The amazing thing is it 'tells' you when your skin is dehydrated!
HOW? When you apply it to your skin and every single bit is absorbed, it means your skin is parched! You need to moisturise!!! When I was in Korea, it was early autumn and the weather was pretty dry. I only bought my Hada Labo because I thought that was good enough and didn't really gave it much thought SO of course, when I tested this, my skin drank up the essence immediately :'(
Skincare routine epic fail.
After using this conscientiously, I noticed an improvement. After applying it, you could still see droplets of the essence. YUP! The size of the droplets indicate how moisturised your skin is. Of course, don't expect HUGE droplets. That's unrealistic. And you can concentrate on the areas where no droplets form. Those should be your dry spots!
I can't remember how much it costs but a rough estimate is like around the $30 range?
Rating 5/5
Lastly, the sun block pact!
I liked that it was in a pact and was different from the usual sunscreen. Personally I don't like to put on sunscreen haha. I'm just lazy! Plus it tends to get oily and then my makeup becomes really awful and I start looking shiny! I only invested in 1 sunscreen thing. That's the Josie Maran Argan daily moisturiser. It's a moisturiser with spf40. Hmm who knew... I always thought it was a sunscreen. Purely sunscreen.
Anyway yup the odbo sunblock pact is white, has a light pleasant scent and has a creamy consistency. A sponge is provided. It's very light!
I just tried it. What I thought: It feels like a cream when I lightly swatched it with my finger but because there's no color, you can't actually see how much product you've picked up. Similarly with the sponge which is also white, you really can't tell if there's product on it at all!
For all its cream-like consistency, I realise the product adheres to the pan pretty well so you don't pick up a lot. I think I'v only made like scratches on the surface and didn't mess it up at all.
When it's on the face, it goes on transparent. Makes your face velvet to the touch and that's about it. It has been an hour and no signs of oil yet so that's good. There's no oily feeling when you touch it as well!
I'm just wondering how to incorporate this into my makeup routine. I should put this before my foundation I guess otherwise the sponge will get colored :/
